Advanced Mosaic Class at The Haliburton School

Join our friend Judy Breau at the Haliburton School of the Arts this summer for a week long advanced mosaic course.  Here is the course outline..for more info or to register click here.

Please note: This course is not suitable for beginners. Previous experience with mosaics is required. 'Once you have started to work in mosaic, you will begin to notice mosaic-like qualities in all sorts of ordinary objects around you.' Emma Biggs (1999). If this describes your passage from hobbyist to mosaicist, this course may be your next step to creative fulfillment. Working on a project of your choice you will be offered in-depth instruction in cutting, shaping and placement of tesserae: effective use of tools: substrate preparation, grouting techniques, mesh application and much more. This course is designed for mosaic enthusiasts whose interests have surpassed their basic skills. There will be a $15 material fee payable to the instructor. Prerequisites: ARTS136

Broken By Design is famous.

Check out our buddy Erin from Broken By Design Mosaic Studio in Vancouver.  Aw, isn't she cute. And BBD is one of still only 4 dedicated mosaic stores in the country. Can you believe it. Lot's of online stuff out there but very few of us where you can walk in, buy stuff, take a class, ask a question & just generally get mosaicky!
